Developer credentials test Apex, Lightning Web Components, the data model, governor limits, testing, and deployment. They assume you can read and reason about code rather than just configure declaratively.

## Which Salesforce Developer certification should I start with?

Take Platform Developer first. Platform Developer II builds directly on it and is meaningfully harder, and JavaScript Developer is a parallel track worth adding if you spend most of your time in the front end.
